Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of The Full Life Institute website, student and instructor areas, online classes, learning materials, workbook tools, assessments, communications and related services.

The Full Life Institute (“TFLI”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a grace-based Christian learning and ministry-training initiative and a branch of Simon Mbatia Ministries.

By creating an account, enrolling, making a payment, accessing materials, joining an online class or otherwise using a TFLI service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Grace and order are not enemies. These Terms provide clear boundaries so that learning can take place with honesty, dignity, safety and mutual respect.

2

TFLI’s Christian Character

TFLI provides Christian education, discipleship and ministry training from a biblical and grace-based perspective.

By enrolling or participating, you acknowledge the Christian character of the institute and agree to engage respectfully. Honest questions and respectful discussion are welcome.

No participant, facilitator or instructor may use spiritual authority, Scripture, prayer, prophecy or pastoral influence to manipulate, threaten, shame, exploit or coerce another person.

3

Eligibility and Authority

You must provide accurate information and be legally capable of accepting these Terms.

Where a participant is under eighteen, a parent or legal guardian may be required to consent, accept these Terms, approve participation or payments, and verify contact information.

If you enrol on behalf of a church, organisation, group or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

TFLI may lawfully decline or defer an application where programme requirements are not met, capacity is full, safeguarding concerns arise, information is materially incomplete or another reasonable reason applies.

4

Account Registration and Security

  • Provide complete and accurate registration information.
  • Maintain a working email address and telephone or WhatsApp number.
  • Keep your password and verification codes confidential.
  • Use your own account and never impersonate another person.
  • Notify TFLI promptly of suspected unauthorised access.
  • Update information that becomes inaccurate.

You must not sell, transfer, lend or share your account. TFLI may require a password reset, additional verification or temporary restriction where account security is in doubt.

5

Enrolment and Programme Requirements

Website registration does not always constitute enrolment in a programme. Enrolment may depend on application approval, available places, entry requirements, orientation, payment, sponsorship approval or identity verification.

Each programme may have its own schedule, duration, attendance requirements, assessments, learning outcomes, fees, refund terms and completion criteria. Those specific terms form part of these Terms for that programme.

Where a programme-specific term conflicts with these general Terms, it applies only to that programme, provided it does not unlawfully remove a statutory right.

6

Fees, Cashless Payments and Refunds

TFLI operates on a cashless basis.Cash payments are not accepted through TFLI programmes or the website.

Approved methods may include mobile money, bank transfer, card payment or another electronic method communicated by TFLI.

  • Pay the correct amount by the stated due date.
  • Use an approved payment channel and accurate reference.
  • Keep your receipt or transaction confirmation.
  • Contact us promptly if a payment is not reflected correctly.

TFLI will never require your mobile-money PIN, banking password, full card credentials or one-time verification code.

Subscription billing, renewal and cancellation conditions will be disclosed where applicable. Refund, transfer, credit and cancellation requests are handled according to the relevant programme terms and applicable law.

Where TFLI cancels a paid programme and cannot provide a reasonable replacement, transfer or rescheduled option, an appropriate refund or credit will be considered.

Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

7

Attendance, Completion and Graduation

Minimum attendance 75%

Unless a programme expressly states a higher requirement.

Attendance may be recorded through facilitator records, online meeting records, class check-ins, platform activity or another reasonable method. Logging in without meaningfully attending may not count as full attendance. Repeated late arrival or early departure may affect the record.

Completion may also require lessons or readings, assignments, examinations, practical activities, payment, appropriate conduct and other published course requirements.

A participant may request a reasonable accommodation, alternative activity or approved retake in exceptional circumstances. Requests will be considered fairly in light of programme objectives, available resources and the circumstances presented.

8

Assignments, Exams and Academic Integrity

Submitted work must honestly represent the participant’s own learning, except where collaboration is expressly permitted.

  • No cheating, plagiarism, impersonation or falsified records.
  • No sharing restricted examination questions or answers.
  • No unauthorised notes, devices, websites or assistance.
  • AI tools may be used only where permitted and must be disclosed when required.
  • No interference with assessments or learning systems.

TFLI may require an explanation, oral verification, resubmission or reassessment. Outcomes may include a warning, loss of marks, invalidation, retake, suspension or removal. Except where urgent action is required, the participant should be informed and given a reasonable opportunity to respond.

9

Online Classes and Recordings

  • Join using your correct name.
  • Keep meeting links and access codes within the authorised group.
  • Follow facilitator instructions and reasonable meeting rules.
  • Do not record, livestream, photograph or screenshot a class without permission.
  • Do not distribute class recordings or extracts without authority.
  • Protect private information visible or heard during a meeting.

TFLI may record a class only where participants are informed and any consent required by law is obtained.

You are responsible for your device, internet access and ordinary data charges. Reasonable technical support may be offered, but TFLI cannot control an individual participant’s device or connection.

10

Workbooks and Confidential Sharing

PrivateVisible according to the platform’s private setting.
Facilitator-sharedDeliberately shared for teaching or support.
Submitted questionSent for discussion or clarification.

You are responsible for selecting the appropriate sharing option and avoiding unnecessary disclosure of highly sensitive information.

Private responses are handled under the Privacy Policy. Authorised technical access may still occur for security, support, legal or serious-safety reasons.

Participants should honour group confidentiality, but TFLI cannot guarantee that another participant will never repeat or copy something shared in a group.

11

Acceptable Use and Conduct

You must use TFLI services lawfully, respectfully and for their intended learning and ministry purposes.

  • No harassment, threats, shaming, bullying, stalking or exploitation.
  • No hateful, obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory or deliberately deceptive content.
  • No unauthorised fundraising, advertising, recruitment or commercial solicitation.
  • No spam, malware, security bypassing, scraping or system interference.
  • No unauthorised access to another person’s account or private information.
  • No infringement of copyright, privacy or other rights.
  • No use of TFLI branding to imply an endorsement that has not been given.

Respectful theological disagreement is not misconduct. Persistent hostility, disruption or personal attacks may be.

12

Intellectual Property and Materials

The website, branding, software, lessons, workbooks, videos, audio, assessments and other materials may be owned by TFLI, Simon Mbatia Ministries, an author, publisher or another licensor.

Enrolment gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use authorised materials for the relevant learning purpose.

Unless a material is expressly marked for wider distribution or written permission is given, you must not republish, sell, sublicense, publicly upload, commercially exploit or remove rights notices from it.

Free access does not by itself transfer copyright. A resource expressly identified as freely distributable may be shared only within the permission stated for that resource.

Bible translations and other third-party works remain subject to their owners’ rights and notices.

13

Participant Content and Testimonies

You retain ownership of original content you submit.

You give TFLI a limited licence to host, store, back up, reproduce and display it only as reasonably necessary to provide the service and according to the sharing option selected.

You confirm that you have the right to submit the content. TFLI may remove or restrict content that is unlawful, unsafe, abusive, infringing or contrary to these Terms.

A private assignment, workbook response or message does not become public merely because it is submitted.

TFLI will seek appropriate permission before publicly using an identifiable testimony, photograph, recording, quotation or personal story.

14

Communications and Notices

TFLI may communicate through the website, dashboard, email, telephone, SMS or WhatsApp. You agree to maintain accurate contact details and check programme communications reasonably often.

Account, payment, class, assessment, security and policy notices may be sent electronically. Optional promotional messages may be declined, but necessary operational notices may continue while an account or enrolment is active.

15

Privacy and Data Protection

Use of TFLI services is also governed by the TFLI Privacy Policy.

Read the Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms and governs the handling of personal information. You must also respect the privacy of other participants and must not collect, publish or misuse their information.

16

Third-Party Platforms and Links

TFLI may depend on services such as hosting, Cloudflare security, Google Meet, WhatsApp, YouTube, email providers, payment services and document viewers.

Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies. TFLI cannot guarantee every third-party service will operate without interruption, but this does not remove TFLI’s responsibility for its own acts and legal obligations.

An external link does not automatically amount to endorsement of every statement, product or practice on that site.

17

Availability and Programme Changes

The website or a service may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance, security, updates, provider failure or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

TFLI may make reasonable changes to schedules, instructors, lesson sequence, materials, assessments, meeting platforms or website features. Material changes will be communicated as reasonably possible.

If TFLI materially changes or cancels a paid programme, we may offer rescheduling, replacement teaching, alternative delivery, transfer, credit or refund as appropriate.

TFLI is not responsible for delay caused by events reasonably beyond its control, but will take reasonable steps to reduce disruption.

18

Suspension and Termination

TFLI may restrict, suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated breach, non-payment, security risk, cheating, fraud, harassment, harmful conduct, unauthorised distribution, system interference, unlawful activity, safeguarding concern or legal requirement.

Where practical and safe, TFLI will explain the concern and allow a reasonable opportunity to respond or correct the breach. Immediate restriction may be used where delay could expose a person, assessment, account, payment system or website to significant harm.

Account closure does not automatically erase records that must be retained under the Privacy Policy or law. Suspension or termination does not create an automatic refund right.

19

Certificates and Programme Status

Certificates, transcripts, badges or completion records are issued only where stated requirements have been met.

A certificate may be corrected, withheld or revoked where it resulted from fraud, impersonation, falsified information or material administrative error. Except where temporary urgent action is needed, the participant should be informed and allowed to respond.

Important distinctionUnless a programme expressly states otherwise, TFLI certificates are ministry-training or participation credentials, not government-accredited academic qualifications or professional licences.

Completion does not by itself appoint, ordain, employ or authorise a person to represent TFLI, Simon Mbatia Ministries or another church.

20

Pastoral and Educational Disclaimer

TFLI provides Christian education, discipleship and ministry training. Participation does not guarantee a particular spiritual, financial, relational, employment or ministry outcome.

Course content, discussion and pastoral guidance are not substitutes for professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial or emergency services.

A person facing an emergency, risk of harm, serious health concern or legal crisis should seek appropriate qualified assistance without delay.

21

Warranties and Liability

TFLI will seek to provide services with reasonable care and skill.

To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, continuous operation of every third-party service or a specific personal outcome.

To the extent permitted by law, TFLI is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from ordinary website interruption, independent third-party failure, a participant’s device or connection, unauthorised account sharing, or use of materials contrary to these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, remedies or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

22

Responsibility for Misuse

You are responsible for loss or harm caused by your deliberate, fraudulent, unlawful or materially negligent misuse of TFLI services.

To the extent permitted by law, you may be required to compensate TFLI or an affected person for a valid claim arising directly from unlawful submitted content, unauthorised use of another person’s rights or a deliberate attack on the service.

This does not make you responsible for a problem caused by TFLI, a service provider or circumstances outside your reasonable control.

23

Complaints and Dispute Resolution

We encourage concerns to be raised early and respectfully. Please provide enough information to identify the programme, transaction, account or incident concerned.

TFLI will seek to review complaints fairly. Where a dispute cannot be resolved internally, the parties may agree to mediation or another lawful process.

Nothing prevents a person from exercising a statutory right or approaching a court or competent authority.

24

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.

Subject to any applicable right to use another lawful forum or dispute process, the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or TFLI services.

25

Changes to These Terms

TFLI may update these Terms when programmes, technology, payment arrangements, legal requirements or operational practices change.

The updated version will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Material changes will receive reasonable notice and may require renewed acceptance.

Changes will not be applied retrospectively where doing so would be unlawful or fundamentally unfair.

26

General Provisions

  • If one provision is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
  • Failure to enforce a provision once is not a permanent waiver.
  • These Terms, the Privacy Policy and programme-specific terms form the applicable agreement.
  • Headings are for readability and do not change meaning.
  • These Terms do not create employment, partnership, agency, ordination or a joint venture.
  • The English version controls unless another version is expressly adopted as equally authoritative.
